Get Up and Fight
I just had a conversation with a neighbor and she was crying. As a mixed race person she felt like she lost. I mentioned to her that I feel we are ready for a female president, but Kamala just wasn’t ready or may not be that person. If Kamala thinks ,and her supporters think, she is the right person for the job, she needs to dive in and do want Trump did, start campaigning for 2028 today. The campaign shouldn’t be about sex or race, it should be about policies and leadership. People shouldn’t vote for the candidate because they identify as a specific color, race or sexual preference. Show the world that one defeat isn’t the end and never give up. We are going to need a strong leader in 4 years.
We all clearly saw that Kamala was not expecting to run for President and was not prepared to answer all of the questions she was required to answer to convince voters she was the person to choose. She was flip flopping, copying ideas from Trump after previously saying she didn’t agree with those ideas. People were left thinking that they would’ve be voting for someone who shared their opinions but someone who was simply shifting on the fly to win a contest. She needs to show people she truly believes in and has thought through what she is saying and isn’t just getting fed info into a teleprompter or an ear microphone.
If she is the right person, she will get up and show everyone that she will fight and be ready in another 4 years. What will she do in the mean time? She likely has hundreds of millions of dollars in her campaign fund that she can still use.
Thankfully, on the ballot, many states separated reproductive issues from her so those rights were voted on separately instead of voters feeling like their rights were impacted by her not getting elected. And, rightfully so. Rights should be separate from representation.
If you are reading this and you are upset, take a deep breath and know that we will be o.k.
Full disclosure, I didn’t strongly support either candidate and wish we could find someone willing to lead in 2028 that is strong, honest and cares about everyone in the U.S..
