It is the end of January and I have definitely put on a few pounds since last year. Not a lot. It is clear that I need to firm up my upper body a bit. I don’t do a lot of upper body work. I was getting some good exercise last year while doing exterior projects. There is just no gym workout that will feel as good as spending a day outdoor doing a lot of work, in the warm air.
A friend said he was trying the Whole30 cleanse. It sounds a lot like my normal diet but is a bit more strict. I always avoid wheat, sugar and dairy. I have a weakness for honey that likely won’t go away soon. I can’t stand tea or coffee without a bit of sweetener and something milky so it doesn’t cut into the sides of my stomach.
February is only twenty eight days long but it might be a good time to go through a cleanse, to get ready for a busy work season. I need to focus on staying focused. A clear mind is the key. I am more productive, make better decisions and, better still, typically don’t make as many bad decisions. I need to stop the mentality that a little won’t hurt and try to be more religious about my decisions. A little could certainly hurt in many cases.
I have the focus I need. It is in me.
