Serving Spoon for a Penny

When will I need a serving spoon? Or, a better question might be why would anyone spend $50 for a spoon?

I was in the mall the other day and a location of Bed, Bath and Beyond was closing. Instead of sending all of their items to another store, they did a clearance sale. It was 80% off the first item and one penny for the second item. I ended up buying about 20 items including a $99 ceramic outdoor stool and the amazing spoon above. My entire life I have never seen the need to buy a $50 serving spoon but since it was a penny, I am now the proud owner of a fancy spoon. 🙂

Overall, I was able to acquire somewhere around $900 work of stuff for about $120. Not too bad. Most of it I would not have purchased otherwise but if using the mentality that you buy what you need regardless of price and buy nice-to-haves when they are on sale – or free – or you have the extra money. You shouldn’t buy nice-to-haves if you don’t have enough to buy what you need. Just common sense.
